Susan's Shower

Susan's shower yesterday was a lot of fun. Liza brought some shower games for us to play, the food was good and Aunt Deborah apparently put in a lot of hard work putting everything together. Susan got a lot of gifts and seemed to have a lot of fun.

We made toilet paper wedding gowns. I don't have pictures of it yet, but rest assured that there are pictures that exist in the world with me covered in toilet paper.

Trevor and I got a date and put down our deposit. Now all we need to do is find a photographer and DJ that don't cost us an arm and a leg that isn't entirely inept. I suppose I never knew before but apparently photographers feel free to charge up to $4,000 for a day of work. Even if I liked having a million dusty pictures hanging around (which I don't) that's way too much money to spend.

I have a lot more work ahead of me until all the vendor deposits are done and I'm confident that all the t's are crossed and i's dotted, but I feel like we made a lot of progress. Being engaged is incredibly stressful; I don't know if I entirely expected that wedding planning would put such a big stress on mine and Trevor's relationship.

Have you been inundated with Matt Rife?  I don't want to sound like a hater. I think humor is relative and subjective and he is funny and certainly has proven he is successful at it. I'm not here to criticize his actual craft.  I for one never understood when Dane Cook was hot and selling out Madison Square Garden with his schtick.  I don't personally get it, but I'm not the humor police and that's why there are so many options available, right?  Same with Matt Rife.  There is not one standard for being a good comic.  I just happen to not guffaw at his humor as much as just give it a small smirk.  It's interesting observation about being in gay shape? But he's literally already fit so...how much more fit does he perceive gay men to be? Layover Woe

I had a false start today. Our flight to Detroit was delayed for 4 hours and because of that we wouldn't make it on time to our connecting flight to Osaka. Because of that we tried to find an alternative flight, but...there weren't any. So after spending hours at the airport we finally gave up and went home with the promise from NorthWest that everything will be right tomorrow. Well, we also got a $250 voucher each for the hassle but I would have still rather just gotten to Osaka on time. Now we're at home after hailing a taxi and trying to get rested after all of the exhausting bother of today. It just felt like nothing was going our way today :( So now I'm going to take a shower and try to get some rest for another day of travel.
